Before the photoshoot There are a few things to consider to enable us to get the best results from your session, so please read the following points for a few easy ideas to make the experience more enjoyable and productive. We have also taken training in the methods of safe newborn and baby photography. During the shoot we will ALWAYS ensure someone is in very close proximity to your child - ensuring safety and peace of mind. What does baby wear and what do I bring? Please dress your little one in loose fitting clothing so they do not have to be overly disturbed by undressing. We also wish to minimise any compression marks on the skin resulting from tight clothing. If bottle feeding please bring some spare bottles as little one may feed a bit more than normal during the session.  If you are breast feeding we can give you the privacy required to do this in our office. Also bring a dummy if they use one. For some photographs baby will be partly unclothed, but tastefully posed. Please bring some of your favourite clothes for your child, however we do suggest to avoid strong patterns. Plain primary colours or muted tones often work best. There is plenty of time to do one or two clothing changes. Also bring a few of their favourite toys. We are quite “hands on” during the session, so don’t be alarmed by the amount of posing and handling of your little treasure that we do. You will always be in the immediate area when we are doing this. The shoot should last about one hour - but it may take slightly longer. Therefore please bring spare nappies, wipes - and the other normal baby things you would need for a morning out and about. Once the little one is accustomed to the new faces and surroundings we can commence the shoot. Family shots are also possible during our session - and in fact we encourage these to be taken!  It’s lovely to see the bond and connection between you and your child. We can also include siblings in your photos, however as the shoot is likely to be fairly lengthy they can very easily get bored. So we find it’s often best to keep them occupied elsewhere - and then bring them in towards the end of our session. Your photos will be re-touched before your viewing, so minor blemishes or rashes can be removed.  However please inform us at the time of the shoot IF you wish these to be left visible. What do I wear? Please dress yourself comfortably (maybe with layers) for the shoot - as the studio will be quite warm so as to keep baby comfortable and relaxed. If you have indicated that the shoot will include you and/or your partner, please bring along a black or cream top. For Mum, strapless tops can look really nice with your skin against babies skin. For Dad, sometimes a topless shot works well - but the choice is of course yours! And finally….. We aim to make the session as relaxed as possible - and a relaxed parent often means a relaxed child. Stress will often make them disturbed and more prone to crying. The reason your shoot is allocated a substantial time is that youngsters ARE unpredictable - so there is time for a break, a walk, a feed - and plenty of comforting time. Your experience with us is valuable - and we aim to make it as pleasant as possible for all of you. A comprehensive price list can be seen here
